Aiglon College is a renowned, non-profit independent boarding school located high in the Swiss Alps. Our founder, John Corlette, had a unique vision of what education should be when he enrolled the first six students in 1949. Aiglon continues to be a visionary place today, committed to the balanced development of mind, body and spirit. All students take part in our programme of outdoor expeditions and adventures, which is a unique and distinctive feature of life at the school. With a minimum requirement of two expeditions per term, students experience mountain exploring, camping and a range of challenging activities every weekend.
Our school community includes students from all over the world, representing 55 nationalities and diverse religions, languages and cultures. The Aiglon student body includes 70 Junior School students (ages 9-13) and 300 Senior School students (ages 13-18). The great majority of students board on campus (90%) while the remainder are day students.
Our small size and seven day programme ensures that teachers and students enjoy a truly unique relationship where evenings and weekends are spent together, both in and out of the classroom. Our nine boarding houses (2 junior and 7 senior) provide students with a home away from home, where Houseparents and a Deputy Houseparent live full time, creating a warm family atmosphere and strong sense of house spirit. In the class room, small class sizes (average 10-12 students) ensure a personalised approach to learning. Each teacher is also a tutor in a boarding house, creating a support network that allows students to reach their full potential.
Aiglon is a community of enlightened, engaged young people who are ambitious to make a positive difference. Students follow the challenging International GCSE (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma) programmes. We also offer optional courses for the American SAT exams. We provide expert support for students who speak English as an additional language, who go on to take Cambridge and International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exams.
Our dedicated Careers Department provides a personalised approach to each and every student, from university and course selection to assistance throughout the application process. Aiglon graduates have a strong reputation and enjoy acceptance from the world’s top universities and colleges.
Located in the French region of Switzerland, we offer a truly inspirational location for students to live, learn and play within walking distance of the ski slopes and120km from Geneva airport.
